Sandakan : Seorang pekerja putus kaki kanan dan tangan kanannya hancur selepas diserang buaya di taman buaya, Batu 8, dekat sini, semalam.
Dalam kejadian jam 1.45 petang itu, lelaki tempatan berusia 35 tahun itu dilaporkan kritikal dan kini dirawat di Hospital Duchess of Kent (HDOK) Sandakan.
Ketua Polis Daerah Sandakan Asisten Komisioner Mohd Azhar Hamin berkara, siasatan awal mendapati mangsa adalah seorang pekerja sambilan di taman berkenaan.
Mangsa seorang pekerja kontrak bahagian pertunjukan burung dilihat menuju ke bahagian kolam pertunjukan buaya sambil membawa bangkai ayam sebagai makanan reptilia berkenaan.
Selepas memberi makan, mangsa kemudian menggosok bahagian hidung buaya yang membuatkan haiwan itu berang lalu menyambar mangsa.
“Saksi yang berada di tempat kejadian bertindak menghalau buaya tersebut dan akhirnya mangsa dilepaskan daripada gigitan,” katanya ketika dihubungi, hari ini.
Katanya, mangsa kemudiannya dikejarkan ke HDOK Sandakan manakala siasatan lanjut masih diteruskan berhubung kejadian berkenaan.

KOTA KINABALU: A man was attacked by an 800kg crocodile named Bujang Lapok when he tried to pet the reptile after feeding it at the Sandakan Crocodile Farm on Monday.
It is learnt that the 35-year-old part-time bird carer at the farm was feeding the 60-year-old crocodile a chicken at about 1.45pm.
After he fed the 5.5.m long crocodile, the man starting rubbing it on its snout but the reptile unfortunately turned on him.
A fellow employee who saw the incident ran to his aid and managed to force the crocodile to let go of the man.
Sandakan police chief ACP Mohd Azhar Hamin said the victim lost his right leg and his right arm was mangled due to the attack.
"He has been sent to the Sandakan district hospital for treatment," he said in a statement.
